Gum treatment
Redness, bleeding gums and tooth movement are common health problems that patients suffer from in case of gum disease.
Tartar is a bacterial plaque that builds up on the surface of the tooth over a long period of time, causing gingivitis. In inflamed gums, cavities or so-called teeth pockets, form under the gums, and thus lead to loss of sufficient grip to hold the tooth in place. If you don't seek help for a long time, your teeth can start to move and eventually fall out.

  • Non-surgical gum treatment consists of:
    • Removal of soft plaque and tartar from the top and bottom of the gum.
    • antiseptic treatment of gum pockets
    • individual oral hygiene instruction and individual selection of household hygiene products such as toothbrushes and other necessary equipment
    • If the disease has caused tooth mobility, a tooth bonding (splinting) procedure will follow.
  • Surgical treatment of the gums:
Gingival Flap Surgery: This procedure involves lifting the gum tissue to access and clean deeper pockets of bacteria and tartar buildup. After cleaning, the gum tissue is then secured back in place.

Gingivectomy: this procedure may be performed to remove and reshape the excess gum tissue.

Bone Grafting: Severe periodontal disease can lead to bone loss around the teeth. Bone grafting involves adding synthetic or natural bone material to regenerate lost bone and support the teeth. Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR): This technique to encourage the regeneration of bone and tissue lost due to periodontal disease.

Pocket Reduction Surgery: Also known as osseous surgery, this procedure involves reshaping and smoothing the bone around the teeth to reduce the depth of periodontal pockets and make it easier to clean and maintain oral hygiene.

Soft Tissue Grafting: In cases where the gum tissue has receded, soft tissue grafting may be performed to cover exposed tooth roots and improve the appearance of the gums.
  • Gingivoplasty
Gingival recession is a condition in which the gum line changes its position, revealing the tooth roots. Gingival recessions are single and multiple (more than 2 adjacent teeth) and are often accompanied by increased sensitivity to cold.

The only effective treatment is gingivoplasty (microsurgery):
    • ordinary dentistry
    • gingivoplasty - covering of the treated tooth root with gingival tissue
    • or correction of the gums by means of soft palate tissues.
